Nashville Engagement Photo Session

An Engagement Photography Session is your preview and precursor to your wedding day!  The engagement photography session is your proclamation of your love for each other and a step forward to your special day.  Many of our clients at Nashville Wedding Photography use some of their photos from the engagement sessions in their wedding announcement and “Save the Date” cards.  Numerous phone calls have been received by our office to let us know that the engagement pictures we shot are displayed proudly around their home.  We love going to a wedding photography shoot and see the pictures we shot from the engagement photo session on display in a table for everyone to see.  For help in planning your engagement session, visit the Wardrobe and Makeup Guide page for helpful ideas and hints in choosing your dress, and doing your makeup for the engagement photos.

The couple’s love is showcased in their engagement pictures.  It is a record of their romance and the affection they feel for each other.  Many couples do not realize the importance of an investment in an engagement photography session.  Engagement pictures help bring back the memories of your history as a couple, where and how your love began, how it grew and how it has culminated into the wedding you are now planning.  Out Nashville Wedding Photographers offer different Engagement Photography Styles that you can choose from to suit your preference.

Plan for “Wedding Day Emergencies”

One common complaint you will hear from new brides after their wedding day is that she has been rushed and felt out of control.  If you are planning your wedding, make sure you plan some more even when you think you have planned enough.  At Nashville Wedding Photography, we have a compilation of the recommendations of makeup artists and hair stylists we have worked with in the past.  You may Contact Us and we will give you their information.  Visit our Wardrobe and Makeup Guide page for do-it-yourself ideas and tips to make the camera friendly towards you and produce beautiful photos.

Stylists are oftentimes running late during a wedding day, so a bride should plan to be ready for makeup an hour ahead of schedule.  If your hair and makeup will be done in a location far away from where the ceremony is to take place, make sure you have a separate vehicle ready to avoid getting stuck waiting for a bridesmaid or aunt to get their hair done.

We also recommend that the bride prepare a “wedding emergency kit.”  A photographer do not have what a bride will need in our Equipment Toolbox, so even if we came amply prepared for the wedding shoot, we will not be able to help out if you lack some things.  Nashville Wedding Photographers exert every effort to help a bride prepare for her wedding day.  Your emergency kit should include extra touch-up makeup like lip gloss and powder for retouches throughout the day.  We are taking your pictures all day long and it will not do to have pale lips or shiny cheeks in your photos.  A bottle of water will also be helpful and an energy bar in instances when you need an extra lift.  Many brides are unable to eat much during the week before the wedding, and this gets worse during the wedding day, so make sure you have some water and something to munch on just in case you feel woozy.  A not so crazy idea is to throw in some band-aids in your emergency kit.  The shoes brides wear are often new and uncomfortable and while they may look good in the wedding pictures, they might be causing great pain by the time the bride gets to the location of the reception.

Nashville Wedding Day Transportation

Make sure that your transportation is reliable and is clear about your pick up and drop off times, unless you found a family member to drive you to and from the location of the ceremony, to the reception venue and wherever you are going afterwards.  Nashville Wedding Photographers will be there to catch every moment of your special day but will hate to see a newly wed couple waiting for a ride.  We can always nap Wedding Pictures of you getting irritated while waiting, though.  You may hire a horse and carriage, a classic car or a limousine, but make sure they are reliable.

The Wedding Day Dress

At Nashville Wedding Photography, hundreds of photos of your wedding day will be taken by our skilled photographers.  There will be hundreds of pictures of you wearing your wedding dress!  Choose your dress wisely, something that suits your style and will be comfortable to wear during the long wedding day.  Your dress should be specially chosen by you and not by anyone else.  Our Wedding Photo Styles may help inspire you to find and choose your dream wedding dress.  The pictures we will generate out of your wedding day cannot be recreated, so your special day should be carefully planned.  It should be spectacularly planned while keeping in mind you and your partner’s comfort.  It should also reflect who you really are.

It is also vital that you be in charge of choosing, securing and getting your wedding dress ready.  Brides often designed a Wedding Dress Manager like her mother, a bridesmaid, friend or another relative.  This may prove disastrous!  Some people are forgetful and may not get your dress ready or forget to bring one or two components like a headdress or gloves.  Be sure to make sure that everything about your wedding dress is in order.

Nashville Wedding Family Photos

When families get together for a wedding or get reunited after a long absence, it can become chaotic and people get distracted. Even though we use the Wedding Photojournalistic Style and really like catching unexpected moments and spontaneous emotions throughout the day, Nashville Wedding Photographers recommend that family members are notified to be at a venue or location a minimum of 30 minutes before the actual photo shoot is to begin.  This will ensure that family members you want to be included in the photo will arrive early or if they arrive late, they will still be on time.  It is also a good idea to tell your family members that wedding day photography take a little time.  If you want family photos shot before the ceremony, you have to tell everyone to arrive earlier.  If you want the family photos done after the ceremony, all will have to be prepared to arrive later for the reception, making guests wait a bit longer.  This is a common occurrence at weddings and usually expected; but it helps to make sure that the family understands these things to make sure that your wedding photos will be complete and turn out the way you want them.

You also have to be sure that everyone knows where they are supposed to go, or have directions on how to reach the location.  See our About Us page as we can provide information regarding Nashville and the best roads and routes to take.  If you are worried about parking in a downtown wedding, you should let your family members know where they can park and how much they have to pay for it.  For downtown weddings, it is best for family members to carpool.  Doing your research and providing your family members vital information will help ensure that your wedding day will not run behind schedule.  Send little notes, reminders, text messages, and emails to send love messages to family and friends but remind them that the day is important to you.  Your Wedding Photography is your Investment, so you should to all you can to make sure that your family members will cooperate and help you out with your special day.
